KCVB
Castroville, TX |
KCVB has had an interesting and dramatic history! It was deeded to the city in 1949 with the agreement that it would only ever be two things: An aiport sponsored by the city of Castroville, or an airport sponsored by the FAA (see Airport Property Analysis). In the late 90s until 2013, it was embroiled in legal dispute between the city and its previous manager/FBO (see San Antonio Express News). It cost the city thousands of dollars and caused hostility between the airport and the city. In 2019, a remarkable manager, Mr. David Kirkpatrick, began to educate both sides and seemed to be mending old wounds. Also in 2019, we became tenants at KCVB, which has proven to be a wonderful community of aviation enthusiasts who are eager to share there affinity for aviation with one another and you. There are decades of experience roaming around: pilots, controllers, maintainers, technicians, instructors, builders, and refurbishers. As an aviation enthusiast, I hope to promote KCVB and general aviation and all of the good they provide, both locally and beyond.
